Adjusting from BC/DR to Pandemic Management:

Pandemic plans need to reflect the institution’s size, complexity, and business activities. During a Pandemic the Business Impact Analysis and Risk Assessment should drive the impact and prioritization of critical services as well as the BCP.

To address the unique challenges posed by a pandemic, the institution’s BCP should provide for:

  • A preventive program
  • A documented strategy
  • A comprehensive framework of facilities, systems, or procedures
  • A testing program
  • An oversight program to ensure ongoing review and updates
  • Emergency resources and key personnel
